Create your vision…so easy to type, but really not so easy to do. For some creating what you have tucked away in your mind is easy. For some it’s hard to bring to life what you envision. And even for some it is hard to create that vision to begin with.
That brings me to my book, “If You Were A Giraffe”. The story idea came from trips to the zoo with my little boy. My go-to thought for creating is to imagine what it must be like to be in others’ shoes, or in this case, what it must be like to be a giraffe! Thinking how that giraffe feels fuels my creativity to write, to paint, to share. If you get stuck and can’t get out of your creativity block, close your eyes and imagine yourself in others’ shoes; if it be a giraffe, a person, a car, anything that you see around you. It doesn’t even have to be something you are trying to write about. Imagine you in their shoes and ideas will come to you as you turn your feelers on and start to see the world from their perspective. Even if you want to be creative and it’s just a little hard getting started, try this exercise for a few minutes each day and soon you will have to start writing down all the creative thoughts that come to mind (especially when you’re least expecting it!).

Oh wow, this is a really great technique indeed! I think I’ll go try it out today. Now to find subjects while being locked down at home…
