Grandfather Tree is coming along…slow and steady. When I wrote this story, I did not have a good idea of what illustrations I would use. I put it aside, came back to it, worked on another project, and finally came back to it this last time with the vision fully seen in my mind. And so, even though it feels like it has been an eternity since starting this story, I am slowly getting close for it to be complete. And it’s okay. It has been slow, but steady, and ultimatley it does not matter. I am not on anyone’s timeline except my own. Sometimes you have to go slow and steady, and at the end, you will win the race.
Grandfather Tree is a beautiful story about being positive. Inspired by Grandparents, some with me, some passed on, who always seem to have a great bit of wisdom. Excited to put it all together at the end, but also enjoying the process. After all, it’s not worth anything to you if you don’t enjoy the process.

look around you and think of something happy to say.
Perhaps the sun feels extra warm, and this makes you feel good.
Or the smell of the air after a big rainstorm, which would lift anyone’s mood.
Maybe it is the wind that blows and tickles your leaves.
Or the butterflies that fly by your nose and make you sneeze.”
