That’s my boy. My soul, my heart, my love. He’s an amazing four year old and everyday I count my blessings for him.
He has helped me find and add to my purpose in writing and illustrating children’s books and writing in general. It’s an incredible feeling to be asked by him to read my stories. It’s an even better feeling when he tells me his ideas for new books.
I started off sharing my writing and illustrations with the world because I found a new purpose in life, other than my daily job. That purpose is to bring joy, laughs, feelings, good thoughts, comfort, and a positive outlook of thinking to children and adults. It’s not easy when life makes you feel beat down, and certainly hard sometimes to push on, but I’ll tell you what – no matter what has happened in my life, I feel alive writing and illustrating and that’s why I do it. And hopefully with sharing my stories, I help others. Right now might not be the time for you to find your purpose, you may have found your purpose yesterday, or you may not find it for ten years. There may be things that have to happen in your life first, before you have your aha moment. But you will. Just listen to your heart and choose to do what makes you feel alive. And as a side note, it should be something that helps people in some sort of way, because giving back is the ultimate feel-good feeling. Then just repeat, repeat, repeat and your heart will be full.
